Cont’d Recap from last Monday’s #TheVoice
Tony Vincent has been around. A Broadway star who just worked on Green Day’s American Idiot (The Broadway show), this guy’s serious business! You can tell too! His version of “We are the Champions” was theatric, and badass actually. Cee Lo was feeling it, and #TeamCeelo it is!
Anthony Evans, son of a pastor, believes you just have to be authentic. Gotta respect that. Anthony sang “What’s Going On”. You could tell Cee Lo was about to hit the button, but only Xtina made the push. I love those glasses. Go Anthony!
Jamie Lono sang “Folsom Prison Blues”, and got a button push from Adam before he even really let loose! Did I mention he’s missing half a lung, and this boy can SING. Jamie makes sandwiches for a living, and well…long story short, instant connection with #TeamCeeLo
Dylan chambers came from a musical family, and you can tell he knows what’s he doing, but man these judges are picky! We have to find that VOICE though, and unfortunately it wasn’t his time.
Justin Hopkins sang David Gray’s “Babylon”. and Cee Lo thought he sounded like a “little brother in a Prince’s Soul” so to speak… and Cee Lo got his man. #TeamCeeLo it is!
Next was Nicolle Galyon, piano-playing country girl. She brought her little brother with her to watch the audition and I thought that was pretty cute! Nicolle played “You Save Me”. I like that “huh?” look the coaches had, and Adam turned around before too long. Adam thought she was sooo special, and we do too. Go #TeamAdam!
#TeamXtina picked up young Ashley De Law rosa, and #TeamBlake added Alyx, and some “Real, genuine country” Jordan Rager. and #TeamAdam got another country gal, Karla Davis.
Big guy Eric Tipton, over 6’ tall rocked out on “You Make My Dreams Come True”, but looks like the coaches just weren’t feeling it. I was rocking on it though, just saying.
Finally there was Mathai, who closed down the round with “Rumor Has It”. I love this girl and her determination to follow her dreams. All the boys hit their buttons, but where you at Xtina? Adorable, and she sure does have the voice, but is it THE Voice? We shall see!
